We take pride in our specialty services

Veterinary dentistry specialists are highly trained in diagnosing and treating dental and oral health issues in animals. They are equipped with the knowledge and skills to handle even the most complex pet dental services, from routine cleanings to advanced surgical procedures. Our team of animal dental specialists can help improve your pets' oral health through preventive care and high-quality treatment plans.

Pets may need to see a dental specialist for various reasons – from something minor like a fractured tooth to more serious conditions like gum disease or oral tumours. Regular dental check-ups are the only way to detect issues early and prevent them from becoming more severe in the future.

MAKE A REFERRAL

An unfortunate fact of life is that pets can – and often do – develop dental issues requiring veterinary dental specialists' attention. Below are some of the most commonly seen dental problems in pets:

  • Dental disease: Periodontal disease is one of the most common dental issues for pets. Simply put, it’s inflammation and infection of the gums and supporting structures of the teeth, which can manifest in pain, tooth loss and other health problems.
  • Fractured teeth: Pets can fracture their teeth from trauma or chewing on hard objects. These injuries can be incredibly painful and might require extraction.
  • Oral tumours: Tumours can easily develop in the oral cavity and affect your pet’s gums or tongue. Check-ups will help detect and treat the issue early.
  • Gum disease: Gingivitis and other gum diseases can cause serious discomfort for animals and, if untreated, tend to result in more severe dental issues.
  • Root canals: Root canal therapy might be needed to treat infected or damaged teeth.
  • Facial fractures: Trauma to the face can lead to fractures that affect your pet’s teeth and jaw.

  • Education and support: Our dentistry specialists will educate you on the problem so you can better care for your pet’s dental health at home. This might include anything from how to brush your pet’s teeth to dental-specific diets and products
MAKE A REFERRAL

When you bring your pet to an AREN Network dental specialist, you can expect a caring approach to your furry friend’s oral health. Here’s what you can expect from a standard dental appointment:

  • Your veterinary dentistry specialist will thoroughly examine your pet’s mouth, teeth and gum area. This could involve taking some dental X-rays to further assess the condition of the teeth and supporting structures.
  • Based on this exam, your specialist will diagnose any specific dental issues and draw up a treatment plan, which may include procedures and preventive measures to tackle your pet’s dental hygiene needs.
  • If a dental procedure is deemed necessary, your specialist will explain the process in full and what you can expect. Cleanings, extractions and root canals are performed under anaesthesia.
  • After the procedure, your specialist will provide detailed instructions on post-procedure care, including how to administer medications and when to bring your pet in for follow-up appointments.
  • These follow-up appointments are very important to keep an eye on your pet’s dental health and ensure any complications are managed straight away.

With the AREN Network’s veterinary dental specialists, you can trust that we’ll help manage any issue and keep your pet’s oral health in excellent shape for years to come. If you have any questions or need more information, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
