Our services

ARH Gosford is headed up by our clinical director, Dr Tamsyn Bradley, and our onsite criticalist, Dr Natashia Evans. We are open 24/7 to support our local referring veterinarians with advanced critical care services.

An overnight monitoring package is available for your stable patients while your practice is closed overnight to ensure they remain stable or to be there if they do deteriorate. These patients are then discharged from ARH back to you in the morning when you reopen to either continue their care or be discharged home. For further information regarding the packages available, please contact ARH Gosford directly on (02) 4323 3886.

When an external specialist (internal medicine, dermatology, cardiology) is required, we will work with both the client and their primary care vet to refer to a specialist that best meets their needs. All pets are referred back to their regular veterinarian for continued treatment and management of conditions. We are not a general practice and do not perform any routine duties such as vaccinations, heartworm injections, dental care or microchipping.

We take pride in our specialty services

Our ECC team is headed up by criticalist Dr Natashia Evans and is highly trained to monitor and treat the most critically ill patients. They have access to state-of-the-art equipment, including invasive and non-invasive blood pressure monitoring, mechanical ventilator support and oxygen therapy, as well as the most up-to-date in-house blood testing machines for haematology, biochemistry, coagulation and blood-gas analysis.

Our team provides constant, close monitoring of all animals requiring critical care support and specialises in providing pain management, intravenous fluid resuscitation, blood transfusions, oxygen support and nutrition to patients. This dedicated care can often be the key factor in a pet’s survival. Our full team is recovery-trained and certified in CPR resuscitation.

MAKE A REFERRAL

You may never have thought about it, but just like humans, some sick pets need blood transfusions, too.

Some accidents and illnesses cause catastrophic blood loss and we need to supplement your pet’s own blood with a donation of blood from another animal.

These donations are often life-saving, and recipients go on to make a full recovery thanks to the blood donation.

Not all dogs are appropriate for blood donations, and we need to ensure the health of the donor is not compromised by participating.

Our surgical suite is equipped with advanced anaesthetic and ventilation machines complete with full monitoring equipment (including blood pressure, SpO2, PCO2, body temperature, ECG), heating facilities, suction machines and more.

ARH Gosford has onsite imaging services to assist our veterinarians in providing diagnosis and treatment of your pet’s condition. We have access onsite to:

  • Digital X-ray
  • Ultrasound
  • Endoscopy

Our Homebush team can provide assistance for any advanced imaging needs such as MRI or CT.

MAKE A REFERRAL

We are fully equipped to run full blood profiles, coagulation (clotting) tests, microscopy, urinalysis, blood gases, electrolytes, ionised calcium, haematology and more to obtain fast results, usually within minutes. This enables fast and accurate diagnosis and treatment.

All hospitalised patients are monitored continuously throughout their stay. There are highly experienced ECC veterinarians and nurses on duty at all times. Your companion stays in a comfortable, clean bed visible to all of our staff and is monitored around the clock.

We discourage toys and blankets from home – with the high amount of traffic at our facility, it’s difficult to guarantee they will return home.

MAKE A REFERRAL

Our ARH nurses are highly skilled in veterinary critical care medicine and are compassionate people who go above and beyond when caring for your pet. All of our nurses have been trained and certified in CPR resuscitation.

Our consultation rooms are designed to be a simple, soothing environment. They are used for the initial assessment of less critical patients and discussion with owners prior to admitting animals for treatment. More critical cases will be transferred directly to the treatment area for nursing supervision upon arrival.

Our ARH receptionists are the welcoming face of our organisation and will support you during your time at our hospital. Our receptionists are highly trained, compassionate people and can assist with making and changing appointments, organising visits with your pet, and providing information on hospital stays. They are also the resident experts in payment options, such as VetPay and Zip Pay, and can process your insurance claims if desired.
