Dr Malcom was allocated as my dog Frenzals surgeon to consult and remove a cancer lump. Dr Malcom had great communication skills such as writing things down for me, and ensuring I understood what was happening. He was reliable too with follow up. I thought he was so kind, patient and understanding during a stressful situation. He made sure Frenzal had everything he needed from home. Most importantly my dog seemed to like him. Thank you so much for your expertise and kindness.

My first experience going here and my cat was thoroughly taken care of. Anna was looking after her and was so attentive to every detail I spoke about. Anna also demonstrated incredible knowledge and was very detailed when telling me about my cats condition and the appropriate medications. Anna also put time into organising the details of the different care options I could take, with varying financial levels, which was very helpful. Highly recommend you take your pet here in emergencies.

The AEC is the closest place open 24 hours. The vets are experienced and I left feeling my pert was treated thoroughly and provided with excellent vet care. The premises have been refurbished and look amazing. On the downside - be prepared for a long wait. Pets are prioritised during triage so you may not be seen in order of attendance. However, Marley seemed to be deteriorating after a 3 hour wait, so she was reclassified and seen almost immediately after noticing a change. You can be lucky and walk right in and be seen, or, like us, wait some time. Also note there is a hefty cost for this service. But the downside is far outweighed by the upside - that is, knowing your pet has recieved excellent care. I really did appreciate the service and the care from all the staff and I was encouraged to speak with them if I noticed a change in Marley's condition. It's a fabulous service and we are very lucky to have one close to home.

BOAS (Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome)

Around 1 in 2 flat-faced dogs struggle to breathe, but the signs are often subtle and easy to miss.

Snoring, gagging, collapsing on walks, vomiting after meals, restless sleep, or noisy breathing, these are all signs of airway obstruction, not just “normal for the breed.”

That’s why we’re offering FREE airway assessments at AEC + Specialty Care Moorabbin with specialist surgeon Dr Malcolm Jack.

✅ Gentle, hands-on examination
✅ Tailored advice on whether surgery could help
